James has photographed Tuxedo Park: The Historic Houses, a sumptuously produced book that explores a community only forty miles from Manhattan but seemingly continents away. This gated enclave is famous for its Gilded Age mansions designed by prominent architects including McKim, Mead & White, Carrere & Hastings, Bruce Price, and Warren & Wetmore. Published by the Tuxedo Historical Society with distribution by Black Dome Press, 2007. 356 pages, hard cover.

Edited by Christian R. Sonne and Chiu yin Hempel, Tuxedo Park features over two hundred of James's original photographs of some sixty historic houses, with an essay by the photographer.
