Fine Art Prints
James offers fine art prints in small editions. Using artist's pigments on Hahnemuhle etching paper the artist has adopted the materials of the traditional engraver. Unlike glossy photos, the brushed surface of the etching paper is glare-free so the image appears to radiate from within the fibers. In keeping with the engraver's craft, James prints on a large sheet, leaving a wide margin that contains his signature, the image title, and the print number.
Prints may be mounted and framed to the same standards as James's Chelsea gallery prints. A hardwood frame is hand-built by the Philippe Laumont studio of New York City. The frame is constructed with traditional splined joints, and is stained and polished to a tone that complements the individual image. Recessed within the two-inch deep frame, the mounted print is protected without a distracting layer of glass.
Printing, mounting and framing methods are to museum standards for archival permanence. Approximate overall paper dimensions are shown below; please ask for the exact dimensions of a given print. Add two inches total for the frame.

Private Commissions
James accepts private commissions to create unique landscape photographs. Once the subject and a general view have met his client's approval, James returns to the location repeatedly, making exposures under a variety of lighting conditions. In the studio, he selects and merges elements from these exposures into the final image – an intensive process through which James's signature "painterly" style emerges.
Printing and framing are to the standards of a fine art print. Please contact the studio for pricing.
Estate Portfolios
James creates a traditional estate portfolio for those wishing to document a significant property. In association with the Brewer-Cantelmo studio of New York City, he binds his prints into a handmade portfolio covered in tooled leather or silk. An estate portfolio is both a record of provenance and a work of art to be passed down through the family.
